The Texas Slim cast will present two performances at the First Baptist Church multi-purpose center on November 5 and 7.

“The setting will be a U.S.O. Tour stop at Eastland Island in the South Pacific in 1944”, according to a release from the Eastland Centre for the Arts. Texas Slim, played by Ron Holliday, and his trusty sidekick, Miss Trixie, played by Dorothy Kea, will headline a star-studded cast portraying Betty Grable, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, The Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland, Doris Day, Danny Kaye, Les Paul, Mickey Rooney, Peggy Lee, Gene Krupa, Carmen Miranda, Kate Smith and others.

As with the Texas Slim’s Eastland Opry performed last May, all net proceeds of the performances will go toward restoration of the Lyric Theater and its adjacent buildings on the west side of the Courthouse Square.
